Children & Teen Training
5K's is here to help your child or teen. I am here to help them whether they are struggling with their weight, already are overweight, or are generally inactive or just wanting to get active or be prepared for their next sporting event.
First and foremost the goal is to get your child or teen to start moving, improve their eating habits and generally enjoy life. My training with your son or daughter will not be a temporary solution but a permanent life style change.
If your child or teen is needing weight loss the progress will be measured in numerous ways including the scale (on a montly basis) should all parties be comfortable with the idea (including your son or daughter). Often with children, a goal of weight maintenance is more appropriate than weight loss.
If your son or daughter is wanting to improve their overall health, and become empowered, I will get them there. I also will educate them (as well as the parent) on healthy clean eating so it too becomes a lifestyle change.
Through my training program you will learn how to go from couch to pavement the proper way.This will include learning tempo runs, pacing as well as cross training and hill/sprint training as well as preventing injury.
Not only will you be shown or taught proper form but you will also learn the ends and outs of running (attire, hydration, nutrition, and stretching). I will educate you on the proper food intake for the athlete in you so you will be able to perform your best every step of the way.
We will even go on runs together either 1:1 or we can do group runs.
